Trim Leads Wrestling at RIT Invite
Sophomore Kyle Trim placed sixth overall in the heavyweight class to lead the Penn State Behrend wrestling team at the Rochester Institute of Technology Invite on Saturday.
ROCHESTER, NY – Sophomore Kyle Trim (Bemus Point, NY/Maple Grove) placed sixth overall in the heavyweight class to lead the Penn State Behrend wrestling team at the Rochester Institute of Technology Invite on Saturday.
Key Moments:
* Trim recorded five wins on the day to place and Zach Dellinger (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville) tallied two victories
* Trim, wrestling at 285, registered four pinfalls to push his team lead to seven on the season
* Trim started out with a pinfall in 2:03 over M. Bolivar of Trinity, before falling into the consolation bracket
* Trim only needed 2:41 to defeat C. Mullenix of Case Western and then using only 1:33 to take down L. Berry of Trinity
* The sophomore continued his winning ways, jumping out to a 5-1 lead over Nick Barrett of Alfred State before pinning him in 6:24
* Trim made it four wins in a row with an 11-5 decision over Kolton Gagnon of Wesleyan, before bowing out due to not being able to wrestle more than six matches in a day
* At 125, Dellinger opened with a pin over H. Crouse of Thiel in 4:38
* Dellinger fell in his next match but recovered in the consolation round with a 3-2 win over J. Bumpers of Pitt-Bradford
* Dellinger used two escapes and a point from riding time to advance
* The freshman then fell in his final bout to Ryan Berstler of Penn. Tech. by pinfall (1:08) to finish 2-2 on the day
* As a team, the Lions accumulated 22 points on the day
