Behrend Wrestlers Compete at JCC Open

JAMESTOWN, NY – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team competed at the Jamestown Community College Open on Sunday afternoon.

Key Moments:

* Jake Brown (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) placed fourth at the 141 weight class
* Brown started the day with a pair of pins, taking down his opponents in 2:13 and 0:45
* Brown dropped to the consolation bracket and then got his third pin of the day (1:43) to advance to the third-place match
* Brown fell by one point (D, 12-11) to finish 3-2 on the day
* Zach Dellinger (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville) also competed at 125 for the Lions
* Dellinger tallied a 2-1 record, earning a pair of decision wins before exiting the tournament due to a medical forfeit
* Hunter Williams (Bothwell, WA/North Creek) tallied his first collegiate win with a pin in 1:31 at the 125 weight class
* Ja'Shad Bumpers (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) got a pair of wins at 133
* Bumpers tallied a 4-2 decision and a 9-7 decision
* Nolan Fenton (Kersey, PA/Saint Marys) competed for Behrend at 197, collecting two wins
* Fenton finished 2-2 with a pin in 0:55 and then a 15-12 decision
* Wrestling at 174, Ryan Gildersleeve (DuBois, PA/DuBois) registered a 2-1 record, getting both wins by fall
* Gildersleeve got his first win in 1:29 and then another fall in 4:30
* Cole Neil (Saint Marys, PA/Saint Marys) was the second wrestler to post a 2-2 record on the day
* Neil, wrestling at 133, pinned his first opponent in 4:44 and then collected a 15-4 major decision
