ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend head wrestling coach Caleb Garvey is finalizing yet another historic recruiting class for the 2024-25 season. Joining the Lions this fall are 17 newcomers, which includes 15 freshmen and two transfers.
These newcomers come to Behrend with impressive high school resumes, bringing great success from regional placements/qualifications and state medalists.
Heading to Behrend from about 30 minutes down the road are Division I Edinboro transfers Sully Allen and Abraham Keep.
Allen, a three-year member of the Fighting Scots wrestling program, brings an abundance of collegiate experience with 23 wins to this young Behrend roster. At Sharon High School, Allen was two-time PIAA State Qualifier and a 2019 State Medalist where he took fifth place. Keep is a 184/197-pounder that was a two-time state medalist at Girard High School.
Joining Keep from Girard High School is Story Buchanan. Buchanan was a three-time PIAA State Qualifier, capping his senior year off with a fifth-place finish.
The Lions welcome their first-ever state champion in 2024 New York State Champion Matt Trim, who competed for Maple Grove High School and placed twice at New York State (NYSPHSAA) Championships.
Other incoming freshman to note are Rudy Brown, Rece Dibert, Konnor Tubin, Cavell Morris, and Obina Onyeson.
Brown was a two-time PIAA State Qualifier and Dibert notched one PIAA State Qualification.

All-in-all, this 2024-25 recruiting class has received 19 state qualifications and seven state medalists.
