WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team had six wrestlers place to help the squad finish third overall with a score of 121.5 at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational on Saturday.

* The Behrend Lions had all but one wrestler register a win on the day to earn their highest finish at the tournament
* Nolan Fenton (Kersey, PA/Saint Marys) was the individual champion at 197
* Fenton went undefeated (4-0) and recorded three wins by pin to claim the title
* In the first bout, Fenton posted a pin in 1:57 and followed that with another pin in 1:16
* After getting a forfeit win, he defeated Phil Nave of Gettysburg in his fastest pin of the day (0:57)
* At 174, Matthew Melchior (Lawrence Township, NJ/Lawrence) took second and Konnor Tubin (Pewaukee, WI/Pewaukee) was third
* Melchior tallied two wins by pin fall in 1:19 and 4:44 before defeating his own teammate Tubin by a score of 15-13 to advance to the championship bout
* Melchior fell to Nolen Zeigler of Lycoming for second place overall
* Tubin, who received a bye to start, posted back-to-back wins with a pin in 3:53 and then a 15-3 major decision before facing Melchior
* Tubin captured third place with an 8-1 decision over Navid Ighani of Fairmont State
* The Lions had two more third-place finishers on the day
* Jake Brown (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) and Zach Dellinger (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville) placed third at 149 and 125, respectively
* Brown used a pinfall in 1:25 and major decision (15-1) wins, before pinning P. Kinne of Southern Virginia in 4:03 for third place
* Dellinger had a pair of consecutive technical falls (18-1, 20-2) and then pinned Cade Stern of Pitt-Bradford in 3:56 to earn third
* At 141, Cole Neil (St. Marys, PA/Saint Marys) had back-to-back pins (3:54, 2:38) to advance to the third place bout and eventually falling 4-3 to B. Callahan of Gettysburg to place fourth
