Behrend Wrestling Collects Pair of Wins at Waynesburg Duals

WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team tallied a 2-1 record at the Waynesburg Duals on Saturday, defeating W&J 40-18 and Waynesburg 40-10 and falling to Lycoming, 47-6.

Key Moments:

* Matt Caldwell (North Tonawanda, NY/Starpoint), Rudy Brown (Burgettstown, PA/Burgettstown) and Isaac Meyers (McMurray, PA/ Peters Township) each recorded a pair of wins on the day
* Against Waynesburg, the Lions registered three wins by fall, two by technical fall, one by major decision and decision
* Jake Brown (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) and Caldwell tallied wins by pin fall and Hunter Savitz (Corry, PA/Corry) got his lone win of the day by technical fall
* Brown competed at 149 weight class, Savitz won at 165 and Caldwell at 197
* Zach Dellinger (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville) and Meyers were victorious by technical fall at 125 and 141, respectively
* Samuel Kightlinger (Erie, PA/Iroquois) posted a major decision at 285, while R. Brown tallied a decision win at 157
* In the match against Lycoming, Caldwell tallied the lone six points thanks to his second straight
* Behrend won seven out of 10 matches to defeat the Presidents 40-18
* The Lions won five matches by fall and two by technical fall
* Meyers collected his second win, this time at 133 and earned a technical fall
* Brown, Martin Ohlsson (Westfield, NY/Westfield Academy), R. Brown, Matthew Melchior (Lawrence Township, NJ/Lawrence), and Nolan Fenton (Kersey, PA/Saint Mary's) all won by pin
* Konnor Tubin (Pewaukee, WI/Pewaukee) and Meyers each registered a technical fall
