Lions Place 12th At RIT Invitational
The Penn State Behrend wrestling team finished 12th with 53.5 team points at the 58th annual RIT Invitational on Saturday at Gordon Field House.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team finished 12th with 53.5 team points at the 58th annual RIT Invitational on Saturday at Gordon Field House.
Key Moments:
* Nolan Fenton (Kersey, PA/Saint Marys) and Konnor Tubin (Pewaukee, WI/Pewaukee) led the way for Behrend with five-place finishes
* At 197, Fenton earned two technical falls and pinfalls to grab spot in the fifth-place match. Fenton picked up a forfeit victory to secure a team high 16 individual points on Saturday
* Tubin registered two forfeit and major decision wins at 174 to notch fifth place and 15 individual points
* Zach Dellinger (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville) and Matt Caldwell (North Tonawanda, NY/Starpoint) each claimed three wins as Dellinger tallied three pins and Caldwell recorded a pin and two technical falls
* Sophomore Martin Ohlsson (Westfield, NY/Westfield Academy) delivered two pins in his two victories
* Abraham Keep (Girard, PA/Girard) and Matthew Melchior (Lawrence Township, NJ/Lawrence) ended the day with two wins apiece with two pinfalls for Keep and a pinfall and technical fall for Melchior
* Other Lions to get in the win column on Saturday were Isaac Meyers (McMurray, PA/Peters Township), Ryan Gildersleeve (DuBois, PA/DuBois), and Cole Wilson (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland)
