Wrestling Rolls Past Altoona and Alfred State at AMCC Duals

BRADFORD, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team posted a 2-1 record at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Duals held at Pitt-Bradford on Saturday.

* This meet was the only official AMCC regular season competition for the five teams 
* The Lions got their first dual meet victory over Alfred State, winning by a 45-point margin
* Behrend faced Pitt-Bradford earlier in the season to count towards their AMCC dual-meet record
* Cole Neil (St. Mary's PA/Saint Marys) and Steffan Lynch (North East, PA/North East) each posted 3-0 records
* Lynch, wrestling in a Behrend uniform for the first time, pinned Remington Fleck of Altoona in 2:47 at 149 and then added a 17-2 technical fall against Owen Cummings of Alfred State at 157
* Lynch finished the day with a 10-9 decision over TJ Martin of Penn back at 149
* Neil registered a forfeit before pinning Tyler Simons of Alfred State in 3:56 and then recording a 9-3 decision vs. Isaac McGregor of Penn at the 141 weight class
* Rudy Brown (Burgettstown, PA/Burgettstown) was the third wrestler who went undefeated with a 3-0 record
* Brown claimed a pair of wins, the first by forfeit at 157 and then a fall against Benjamin Rivera of Alfred State in 1:49
* Brown finished the day with a 20-7 major decision over Gavin Gomes of Penn
* Matt Caldwell (North Tonawanda, NY/Starpoint) and Nolan Fenton (Kersey, PA/Saint Marys) each posted two wins apiece
* At 285, Caldwell pinned Jamell Locket of Altoona (2:39) and Keaton Renfrew of Alfred State in 2:56
* Fenton tallied a 34 second pin over Brady Shehan of Altoona and then registered an 18-3 technical fall against Aaron Johnson of Alfred State
* The Lions improve to 8-5 in duals this season
