Wrestling Places Second at AMCC Championships; Brown, Fenton Crowned Champions
The Penn State Behrend wrestling team took second place at the 2025 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships held in the Junker Center on Saturday.
ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team took second place at the 2025 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships held in the Junker Center on Saturday.
Team Results: Penn Tech. (191), Penn State Behrend (127), Alfred State (105.5), Pitt-Bradford (45), Penn State Altoona (7.5)
Key Moments:
* This is the best finish at the AMCC Championship for the Lions
* Behrend edged last year's champions, Alfred State, by 21.5 points to earn runner up
* The Lions had five wrestlers in the finals, the most by any team
* Freshman Rudy Brown (Burgettstown, PA/Burgettstown) and sophomore Nolan Fenton (Kersey, PA/Saint Marys) were crown AMCC Champions at 157 and 197, respectively
* Brown and Fenton are the program's third and fourth AMCC Champions in the three-year history of having a conference championship tournament
* Overall, Behrend had two champions, three second-place finisher and four third-place honorees
* In the finals, Brown defeated Owen Cummings of Alfred State by a 14-9 decision to complete the undefeated day
* Fenton used a technical fall over Aaron Johnson of Alfred State in the finale, his second of the day, to be named champion
* Zach Dellinger (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville) at 125, Cole Neil (St. Marys, PA/Saint Marys) at 141 and Steffan Lynch (North East, PA/North East) at 149 all placed second overall
* At 125, Dellinger fell 9-8 to Justin Adams of Penn due to a riding-time point to break an 8-all tie
* Neil battled Noah Hunt of Penn at 141 and had a 4-1 lead heading into the third period
* Hunt managed to get Neil on his back for a pin at 5:46
* At 149, Lynch had a pin in 2:02 to start and then a technical fall (21-4) in the semifinals to unfortunately use a medical forfeit in the championship bout for second place
* Jake Brown (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg), Ryan Gildersleeve (DuBois, PA/DuBois), Cole Wilson (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) and Konnor Tubin (Pewaukee, WI/Pewaukee) all took third place in their respective weight classes
