Behrend Wrestling Competes at Cardinal Invitational
The Penn State Behrend wrestling team competed at the Cardinal Invitational hosted by St. John Fisher on Sunday afternoon.
ROCHESTER, NY – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team competed at the Cardinal Invitational hosted by St. John Fisher on Sunday afternoon.
Key Moments:
* The Behrend Lions had two wrestlers place on the day
* Story Buchanan (Girard, PA/Girard) was runner up at 165, while Hunter Williams (Bothell, WA/North Creek) took sixth at 133
* At 165, Buchanan tallied a 4-1 record on the day thanks to a pair of pins and two decision wins
* Buchanan pinned Jason Downer of Brockport in 12 seconds and then defeated Tristian Robinson-July from Cortland State, 17-11
* Buchanan won his quarterfinal match against Antoine Phillips of RIT with a 1:43 fall to advance to the semifinals
* In the semi's, Buchanan tallied a 13-10 win over Christopher Reddy of Ithaca before falling in the first-place match due to injury default
* Williams battled through three bouts to get to the fifth-place match, falling by pin to Xander Burke from St. John Fisher
