Behrend Lions Move Up in Latest NSCAA Great Lakes Regional Rankings

The Penn State Behrend women's soccer program moved up in the latest NSCAA Great Lakes Regional Rankings.

Behrend is now ranked seventh in the region. Atop the region is Denison (14-2-1), Otterbein (14-1-1), and Ohio Northern (12-3-2). They are followed by Centre, Allegheny, Wittenberg, Behrend, Wilmington, Thomas More, and Case Western Reserve.

Behrend is 13-2-3 on the season and is the leader in the AMCC with a 9-0-1 record.

The AMCC playoffs begin this Wednesday, November 4. Behrend is the top seed and will be hosting Penn State Altoona. Altoona enters as the fourth seed and the game will be one of two played at Fredonia State at 12 noon. The Behrend men will follow at 2:30 p.m. against Penn State Altoona also. 

Behrend has captured six of the 12 AMCC women's soccer championships (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2006, 2007). Last season Behrend was upended 1-0 in double overtime by Altoona who went on to win the 2008 league championship.
