The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team learned Monday afternoon it has been selected to participate in the ECAC South Tournament after working for a 13-3-3 record during the year.  The blue and white will be making their sixth trip to the ECAC Tournament (1997, 1998, 1999, 2004, 2005).

Behrend, the AMCC regular season champion after logging a 9-0-1 league mark, fell 1-0 to Penn State Altoona in the 2009 semifinals.

Behrend is the four seed and will play host to the fifth seed Grove City Wolverines (11-6-3) on Wednesday, November 11, at 2:30 p.m. at Gannon University. Earlier this season the blue and white defeated the Wolverines 1-0 behind Julia Schroeck's (Fairview/Fairview) goal.

A pair of AMCC teams will face off in the one versus eight match-up. The top seed is Penn State Altoona (17-4-1) and will play La Roche (11-8-1). Stevenson (14-3-2) is the two seed and hosts Moravian (8-7-2), while Swarthmore (13-4-1) is seeded third and  will host the sixth seed, Centenary (14-4-1). Swarthmore won the ECAC South Tournament in both 2007 and 2008.

The winners of Wednesday's first round will meet in Saturday's semifinal round at the highest remaining seed. The championship will be played on Sunday, November 15 at a time to be determined.

Behrend goalkeeper Kayla Frost (Venetia/Peters Township) has been the backbone of the blue and white this fall. Frost and the team defense have restricted opponents to 11 goals while logging five shutouts.  Behrend's offense has a balanced attack with the team earning 57 goals. Glennis Robash (Mars/Mars), Erin McCreary (Pittsburgh/Seton-LaSalle), and Valerie Wagner (Pittsburgh/Montour) have scored eight apiece.
