Women's Soccer Ready For AMCC Tournament
The Penn State Behrend women’s soccer team will battle No. 3 La Roche today in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) semifinals at the Behrend Fields, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women’s soccer team will battle No. 3 La Roche today in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) semifinals at the Behrend Fields, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
The Lions (12-5-1, 8-0-1 AMCC) received a bye in the first round with earning the second seed after going undefeated in conference play. The winner will advance to the championship game to face the winner of No. 1 Penn State Altoona and fifth-seed Pitt-Bradford. The champion will earn the AMCC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Behrend is looking for their conference-leading seventh title in the 14-year history of the AMCC. The Lions last won the crown in 2007. In the regular-season game against the Redhawks on Sept. 25, the Lions posted a 2-0 victory at La Roche.
Glennis Robash currently leads the team with nine goals and three assists for 21 points.
