Erie, Pa.- The Penn State Behrend women’s soccer team struggled against Grove City losing 7-0 in non-conference play Tuesday.
The Lions (4-4) couldn’t stop the Wolverines (3-1-2) who dominated from the beginning. Grove City forward Hannah Yang recorded a hat trick by scoring a goal in the first minute of the game off a corner kick by from Emily Ostlund and again tallying twice more in the second half. Ostlund also participated by scoring an unassisted goal just 6 minutes into the opening period.
Morgan Osterhouse, posting a score in the first half, would join her fellow Wolverines in goal scoring thanks to a ball played by freshmen Grace Rieman. A Pair of scores made by Emil Hurley would put the Lions away in the final period.
Behrend didn’t get many opportunities to score as the women were outshot 31 to 5 and only recorded one shot-on-goal and were out corner kicked 3-0.
The Lions will look to bounce back against La Roche in conference play Saturday at 1 p.m.
