ERIE, Pa. – Glennis Robash and Erin McCreary each scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Penn State Behrend women’s soccer team past Pitt-Greensburg 2-1 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday.

Robash and McCreary worked together to help the Lions (6-4, 2-0 AMCC) collect their second conference win, assisting one another on each other’s goals. Behrend held a 19-7 shot advantage but the Bobcats (2-9, 0-3 AMCC) managed to score a goal to keep the game interesting.

Behrend struck first in the 14th minute and again in the 54th minute. McCreary crossed the ball from the end line and Robash just got it threw the hands of Olivia Valenti for a 1-0 lead.

McCreary then gave the Lions a 2-0 lead with a goal off Robash’s shot and save by Valenti. She gathered the ball amongst the scramble off the save five feet from the goal.

Pitt-Greensburg made one of the two shots taken in the second half count. Brittany Jackson found herself splitting the defenders and making a one-on-one situation, before scoring for a 2-1 score.

The Lions defense kept the Bobcats away from goalie Alayna Steele the rest of the game, who ended with one save. Valenti recorded seven saves on the afternoon.

Behrend returns to action on Wednesday against Allegheny, beginning at 4 p.m.
