Fredonia's Catie Hale sent a shot sailing from 30 yards out and into the goal three minutes into overtime to lead the Blue Devils past Penn State Behrend 1-0 at the Clarion Classic on Saturday.

FREDONIA, NY - Fredonia's Catie Hale sent a shot sailing from 30 yards out and into the goal three minutes into overtime to lead the Blue Devils past Penn State Behrend 1-0 at the Clarion Classic on Saturday.
Both teams battled through a scoreless 90 minutes to force the Lions into their first overtime game of the season. Fredonia held a 17-8 shot advantage in regulation, while Heather Klimuszka (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) kept the Blue Devils off the board with nine total saves for Behrend.
Just 3:21 into overtime, Hale made her third shot of the night count with the game-winning goal on a shot from way out.
Sam Vasy and Lindsey Steinsdoerfer were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Lions return to action on Thursday at Washington & Jefferson. Game time is 7 p.m.
