Lions Fall Short at Baldwin-Wallace

BEREA, Ohio – Penn State Behrend and Baldwin-Wallace battled for 87 scoreless minutes before Emily Sanders netted the game-winning goal with 2:16 left to play to lead the Yellow Jackets past the Lions 1-0 in non-conference action.

Sanders scored on her only shot taken on the night off a direct kick to help Baldwin-Wallace (8-4) defeat the Lions (7-4-1) for the second time this season by one goal and snap their three-game winning streak.

Heather Klimuszka (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) started in goal for Behrend, making five saves.  Valerie Wagner (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour) fired off four of the Lions' seven shots.

The Yellow Jackets held a 15-7 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.

Behrend returns to action on Saturday against Franciscan at Family First Sports Park. Game time is 3 p.m.
