ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team tied Penn State Altoona for first place in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) this fall according to the preseason voting by the league's head coaches.

The Lions were the conference champions last year and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, while Altoona went undefeated in the regular season in AMCC play and falling in the championship game.  Pitt-Bradford was picked third after earning the No. 2 seed in the AMCC Tournament.

D'Youville and Medaille were selected fourth and fifth, respectively. La Roche and Franciscan were chosen in the same spot they finished last year, sixth and seventh, respectively. Rounding out the bottom tier of the preseason poll was Pitt-Greensburg (8), Hilbert (9) and Mt. Aloysius (10).

Behrend went 13-7-2 overall and won its seventh AMCC title. The team returns 11 letterwinners for the 2012 slate, which is set to start on Sept. 1 with the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament.
