Women's Soccer Hosts D'Youville in AMCC Semifinals

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State women's soccer team will host No. 4 D'Youville in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) semifinals on Wednesday afternoon.

The top-seeded Lions (10-8, 8-1 AMCC) received a first-round bye after going 8-1 in the conference and earning the regular-season championship. Behrend will battle the Spartans (11-5-1) at 12 p.m. on the new artificial turf field.  The winner will advance to the championship game to face the winner of No. 2 Pitt-Bradford and No. 6 La Roche in the second semifinal match up. The championship game will be at the highest-remaining seed on Saturday.

The champion will earn the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Lions are looking to defend their title from last year in hopes for their conference-leading eighth championship in the 16-year history of the AMCC.

During the regular season, D'Youville handed Behrend its only conference loss with a 2-1 decision on Sept. 25.
