ERIE, Pa. - Allyson Lonas (Johnstown, PA/Conemaugh Township) scored the game-winning goal 2:30 into overtime to give the Penn State Behrend women's soccer team a 2-1 victory over Franciscan on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (5-4-1, 1-0 AMCC) continued their run of success against the Barons, having never lost to the Franciscan.

While it looked like halftime would arrive with Franciscan leading, Behrend would not be denied. Shelby Lloyd (Beaver, PA/Beaver Area) scored off of an Abbie Schuster (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) corner kick. Following a scrum in front of the net, Lloyd was able to pound it in.

Ashley Ruttencutter put Franciscan (6-4, 0-1 AMCC) on the board first, scoring on a penalty kick with 11:16 left in the first half.

Lonas' goal came following a tense but scoreless second half of action.

The Lions will host D'Youville on October 1 at 7:30.
