Lions Score Four Goals; Shutout Over Spartans

ERIE, Pa. – Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) tallied two goals and Abbie Schuster (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) recorded two assists to lead Penn State Behrend women's soccer past D'Youville 4-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Tuesday night.

After the Lions (6-4-1, 2-0 AMCC) netted a pair of goals in the first half, Bilka scored two goals nine minutes apart second stanza to help Behrend earn it second conference win.

It took just a minute, 34 seconds into the game before Shelby Lloyd (Beaver, PA/Beaver) got the Lions on the board with a header off a corner kick from Schuster.

The lead grew to 2-0 about nine minutes later when Sam Pace (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) dribble right into the box and buried her shot into the corner at the 10:56 mark.

Bilka scored her first goal at the 65th minute with a shot from the middle of the box thanks to a cross from Schuster. The freshman then did work on her own to get her second straight goal and get Behrend a 4-0 lead. Bilka took on the Spartan (5-4-2, 1-1 AMCC) defenders in the box and delivered a low ball into the left corner with 18 minutes left.

The Lions scored two goals on six shots in the second half and totaled 15 shots overall. Taylor Troyan (Butler, PA/Butler) made six saves on 10 shots.

Behrend returns to action on Saturday against La Roche. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
