Lonas Leads Women's Soccer Past Medaille

BUFFALO, NY – Allyson Lonas (Johnstown, PA/Conemaugh Township) had a hand in three of the four goals to lead Penn State Behrend women' soccer team past Medaille 4-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Tuesday night.

Lonas assisted the two goals in the first half, before scoring the third in the 62nd minute to help the Lions (8-4-1, 4-0 AMCC) post their fourth straight conference win including the third consecutive team shutout.

Sam Pace (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) tallied the first two goals for Behrend. The newcomer got Behrend on the board 3:22 into the game off a pass from Lonas. She then made it 2-0 at the 29:16 mark thanks to another great feed by Lonas.

Two more goals were added in the second half. Lonas and Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) were on the end of the goals, along with an assist from Sam Vasy (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin).

Vasy found Lonas for a 3-0 advantage and Bilka netted her fifth goal in three games just before the buzzer for the final margin.

The defense held the Mavericks (3-8, 2-2 AMCC) to one shot in 90 minutes of play.

Behrend returns to action on Saturday at Pitt-Greensburg. Game time is 3 p.m.
