The Lions (15-5-1) earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's (AMCC) automatic bid into the 64-team tournament after winning their third consecutive title and ninth conference crown. The Bombers (16-2-0), who are ranked No. 7 in the latest NSCAA National Poll, defeated Nazareth 3-1 to win the Empire 8 Tournament and earn the NCAA bid.

The other first-round match will feature Skidmore (12-3-2) and Rowan (16-3-0), beginning at 1:30 p.m. The winners will play each other in a second-round match at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday hosted by Ithaca to determine who advances to the NCAA Sectionals.

Behrend repeated as AMCC regular-season champions finished with a 9-0 conference record, before defeating Franciscan 4-2 in the conference semifinals and then posting a 2-1 decision over Pitt-Bradford for the championship.

It will be the first time Behrend and Ithaca will play each other in program history. The Lions have also never faced Skidmore or Rowan.
