Women's Soccer Falls To No. 7 Ithaca

ITHACA, NY – Kelsey King scored twice Amanda Callanan added two assists to lead No. 7 Ithaca past Penn State Behrend women's soccer team 3-0 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Bombers (17-2) scored all two goals in the first half and one more in the early in the second stanza to advance to the second round. Taylor Troyan (Butler, PA/Butler) matched her season high with 10 saves for the Lions (15-6-1).

King scored her first goal off the opening whistle, dribbling into the box and taking a low shot just 40 seconds into the game for a quick 1-0 lead.

Callanan assisted on the next two goals. She found an open Taylor Baranowsky at the 13:34 mark for a two-goal lead. Baranowsky buried her shot into the bottom left, just one of 16 shots taken in the first half.

King, proving she is quick to the draw, scored her 14th goal of the season just 1:05 into the second half. Callanan's original shot got deflected and King was there to score from the left post.

Shelby Lloyd (Beaver, PA/Beaver) and Sam Pace (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) each took a shot for Behrend.

The Lions finish the season with a 15-6-1 overall record and won their third straight AMCC Championship.
