ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend senior Garrett Fiscus (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) and junior Maddie Monte (Beaver, PA/Beaver) have been named to the 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Division Men's and Women's Scholar All-East Region team as an honorable-mention selections.
Fiscus, who is a four-time Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference All-Academic selection, was also named to the All-AMCC second team. The senior started all 22 games for the Lions in 2013 and finished second on the team with seven assists.
As a junior, Fiscus was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team.
Monte is instrumental and the backbone of Behrend's defense. This season she was one of four players who started every game. Monte helped the Lions post eight shutouts and hold opponents to 1.17 goals per game. She is a three-time AMCC All-Academic selection and is a member of the Lambda Sigma Honor Society.
