Second-Half Scoring Lifts Behrend Past Drew

MADISON, NJ - After a scoreless first half, the Penn State Behrend women's soccer team scored three unanswered goals to defeat Drew in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (3-1) earned their third win of the season behind a pair of assists from Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and goals from three different players.

Behrend couldn't capitalize on any of the nine first-half shots and then netted three in a matter of 24 minutes for the victory. Sam Pace (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) got her first goal of the season and the first one of the day. Pace beat a Rangers (1-2) defender and buried a shot to the left for a 1-0 lead in the 59th minute.

Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley), who has scored a goal in three of the first four games, got her team-leading fifth goal at the 67:42 mark on a pass from Oberlander in front of a wide open net to make it 2-0.

Oberlander connected with Allyson Lonas (Johnstown, PA/Conemaugh Township) in the 83rd minute for an insurance goal off a drop pass from the top of the 18-yard box for the final margin at 3-0.

The shutout goes to Taylor Troyan (Butler, PA/Butler), marking her second of the season with three stops on six shots.

The Lions return to action tomorrow for the second day of the Drew Tournament and will face Elms at 12 p.m.
