Behrend Blanks Elms at Drew Tournament

MADISON, NJ – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team had seven different players score to defeat Elms 7-0 on the second day of the Drew Tournament.

In just their fifth game of the season, the Lions (4-1) posted their third shutout and tallied their highest goal total with seven.  Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) tallied a goal and an assist, while Taylor Troyan (Butler, PA/Butler) had one save in the win.

Behrend started the first half off with two goals thanks to Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Belack. Oberlander struck in the 28th minute after getting the rebound on her first shot and then placing the ball in the left netting for the first goal. Belack followed less than seven minutes later off through pass from Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) for a breakaway and a 2-0 lead.

To start the second half, Belack returned the favor to Bilka for a three-goal cushion. Caroline Mashyna (Erie, PA/McDowell) scored her first collegiate goal of the season in the 62nd minute from out of the defense and Sami Pace (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) made it 5-0 at the 65:25 mark with an unassisted tally.

Rachel Oelbracht (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown) found the back of the net for her first goal of her sophomore season and Amanda Donohue (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) created her own opportunity for her second goal of the year and the last goal at 7-0.

The Behrend defense held Elms to just seven shots and blasted 21 of its own.

The Lions return to action on Wednesday at Mt. Union. Game time is 7 p.m.
