Pace Scores Twice in Win Over Mt. Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Sami Pace (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) found the back of the net twice and Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) added another goal to lead Penn State Behrend women's soccer past Mt. Union 3-1 in non-conference action on Wednesday night.

Pace not only scored the final two goals of the game, but she also assisted Bilka on the first goal to help the Lions (5-1) win their third straight game.

Katie Goedecke was able to get the Purple Raiders (3-2) on the board in the second half to cut the lead to 2-1, but Pace gave Behrend some breathing room in the final 15 minutes of the game for a 3-1 victory.

Taylor Troyan (Butler, PA/Butler) gets the win in between the pipes with two saves on five shots.

Bilka and Pace struck early in the first half, each getting goal in a span of three minutes for a quick 2-0 lead. Bilka scored on her first shot taken on a pass from Pace and then Pace tallied her first of two goals with 11:10 into the game.

Goedecke made it a one-goal game at the 52nd minute. Pace was there to answer with an unassisted tally for the final margin.

Behrend returns to action on Tuesday at Grove City. Game time is 4 p.m.
