STUEBENVILLE, Ohio - The Franciscan women's soccer team scored two second half goals to defeat Penn State Behrend 2-1 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday afternoon.
The Barons (7-4-1) were able to knock the Lions (8-3-1) from the undefeated conference ranks. Hannah Cooke and Julia Cocozza netted the goals for Franciscan about 11 minutes apart for the come-back victory.
Cooke tallied an unassisted goal at the 55:36 mark and Cocozza recorded the game-winning goal in the 67th minute.
Behrend got on the board first with an own goal in the 35th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
Franciscan held a 17-8 advantage in shots and 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
Goalie Taylor Troyan (Butler, PA/Butler) made seven saves for the Lions.
Behrend returns to action on Wednesday against Pitt-Bradford. Game time is 1 p.m.
