Women's Soccer Aiming For Fourth Straight AMCC Title

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State women's soccer team will travel to No. 2 Franciscan for the semifinals of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament on Wednesday afternoon.

The third-seeded Lions (14-5-1) advanced to the semifinals after a 4-1 win over No. 6 La Roche on Saturday. The Barons received a first-round bye for finishing the regular season ranked second in the conference with an 8-1 mark. Earlier this season, Franciscan scored two second-half goals to defeat Behrend 2-1 on Oct. 4.

The Lions are making their 18th appearance in the AMCC Tournament. Behrend is looking for its fourth-straight championship and 10th overall title. The Lions are hoping to make it four in a row for the first time since the 1997-2000 seasons.

The other semifinal game features top-seeded Pitt-Bradford against No. 5 D'Youville. The semifinals winners will advance to the championship game at the highest-remaining seed on Saturday. The champion will earn the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
