Women's Soccer Ranked Seventh in Great Lakes Region

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team moved up a spot in the 2014 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Poll according to D3Soccer. The Lions are now ranked seventh with an overall record of 15-5-1.

Out of 52 teams in the region, Behrend is joined by two other Western Pennsylvania teams; No. 1 Carnegie Mellon and No. 3 Allegheny. The Lions are the only Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) team regionally ranked.

Behrend is coming off a 6-1 win over Franciscan in the AMCC Semifinals on Wednesday and will face top-seeded Pitt- Bradford on Saturday at Bradford High School, beginning at 12 p.m.

Freshman Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) leads the team with 15 goals and 10 assists for 40 points. She is five points away from breaking the program record for single-season points. Belack is also tied for single-season assists with 10. Sophomore Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) is not far behind Belack with 15 goals and seven assists for 37 points.

In the last eight games, the Lions have outscored their opponents 30-6 and posted five shutouts. Taylor Troyan (Butler, PA/Butler) had been dominate in goal this year, making 59 saves and posting a 0.88 goals-against average.
