Women's Soccer Rolls Past Mt. Aloysius; Bilka Breaks Single-Season Assist Record

ERIE, Pa. – Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Penn State Behrend women's soccer team past Mt. Aloysius 5-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday.

The Lions (10-7, 7-2 AMCC) secured the No. 2 seed for the AMCC playoffs by defeating the Mounties (7-10, 2-6 AMCC) for the 12th straight time.  The win also marked Behrend's second consecutive shutout and fourth overall this season.

Bilka registered her third six-point game of the season with both a goal and assist in each half. The junior also broke the single-season record for assists on her second helper of the day in the 60th minute.

Bilka began the scoring flurry just 2:03 after the opening whistle. Bilka buried the ball from six yards out on assists from Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair).

Bilka returned the favor to Oberlander 15 minutes, 39 seconds later. Bilka played a ball into the middle to Oberlander, who capitalized on a wide open net for a 2-0 lead.

The Lions added three more goals in the second half, starting with Leah Morra's (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) first goal of the season. In the 60th minute, Bilka tapped it to Morra amongst a scramble for a shot just yards out.

Bilka then scored her second goal of the day less than four minutes later. Morra sent a through pass and Bilka hit a shot into the corner of the net to make it 4-0. Behrend got its final goal thanks to Amanda Donohue (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) on an assist from Caitlin Caldwell (Belle Vernon, PA/Belle Vernon). At the 73:05 mark, Caldwell drove in the ball from the right side and Donahue slid her shot in for a 5-0 lead.

Taylor Troyan (Butler, PA/Butler) had two saves in her third shutout this season. Zara Apakoh tallied 10 saves for Mt. Aloysius in the loss.

The Lions return to action on Thursday at Westminster. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
