Women's Soccer Hosts Altoona in AMCC Semifinals

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team will host No. 6 Penn State Altoona in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) semifinals on Wednesday afternoon.

The second-seeded Lions (11-7, 7-2 AMCC) received a first-round bye after going 7-2 in the conference. Behrend will battle the Altoona Lions (5-11-1, 3-5-1 AMCC) at 4 p.m. on the turf field.  The winner will advance to the championship game to face the winner of No. 1 Pitt-Bradford and No. 5 D'Youville in the second semifinal match up.

The champion will earn the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Lions are looking to defend their title from last year in hopes of their conference-leading 11th championship in the 19-year history of the AMCC. Behrend could also become the second team in the conference history to win five straight championships. Frostburg State is the only other team to do so.

During the regular season, the Lions defeated Altoona 5-2 on September 26 in Altoona, Pa.  Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) scored twice, while Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) had one goal and two assists.

Bilka leads the team with 15 goals and 11 assists for 41 points. The junior recently broke the all-time goals and points records with 43 career goals and 109 career points. Bilka is two assists from setting a new career assists record at 24 and three points from breaking the single-season points record at 44.
