Bilka Named AMCC Offensive Player of the Year; Five Named All-Conference

ERIE, Pa. – Junior Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) was named the 2015 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Offensive Player of the Year, while four Penn State Behrend women's soccer players earned All-AMCC honors, announced on Wednesday.

In addition to Bilka, Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) and Rachel Weyand (Butler, PA/Butler) were selected to the first team, while Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Gionna Fonseca (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) were chosen to the second team.

Bilka is a three-time All-AMCC first-team choice for the Lions and the Offensive Player of the Year as a junior. She led the league in assists (11) and points (43) and was second in goals (16). Bilka led in conference-only goals (11), assists (11) and points (33). She was the driving force to help Behrend produce the top goal-scoring offense in the conference with 37. Bilka set three new program records this season; single-season assists (11), career goals (44) and career points (111). She ranked first in the nation for assists in a single game with four and was tied 13th for total assists.

Belack was named to the first team after landing a spot on the second team a year ago. Belack is second on the team and third in the conference with 11 goals and 29 points. Her seven assists is good for third on the team and the league. Belack has two game winners, including the one in the AMCC Championship game in overtime. Her best performance was three goals and one assist in the conference title game on Saturday.

Oberlander repeats on the All-AMCC second team. The versatile sophomore started every game this season for Behrend, dishing out eight assists (second in conference) and scoring eight goals. Oberlander registered two goals and one assist for five points in the AMCC semifinals win over Penn State Altoona.

Weyand landed a spot on the first team after earning second-team accolades last season. The sophomore was the core of the Lions defense this season yet influential on offense with four goals and six assists for 14 points. Three of her four goals were game winners and she helped the defense post six shutouts.

Fonseca is being honored for the first time in her career as a second-team choice. The midfielder transitioned to defense this season and is reaping the rewards. She started every game this season in the back, helping Behrend hold conference opponents to just 11 goals in 10 games contributing to six shutouts.
