Women's Soccer Downs Pitt-Greensburg; Five Different Players Score

ERIE, Pa. – Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) scored two goals and added an assist to lead Penn State Behrend past Pitt-Greensburg 8-0 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) opener on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (5-4, 1-0 AMCC) two goals in the first half and exploded for six more in the second half, while Belack had a hand in the first three to avenge a 1-0 loss to the Bobcats (2-6-1, 0-1 AMCC) last year.

McKenna Aleksivich (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) tallied her first two goals of the season. Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Laura Schaefer (Erie, PA/General McLane) added a goal and an assist apiece.

The duo of Belack and Oberlander put Behrend on the board 2-0 after the first half. Oberlander fed Belack for the first goal of the game in the 17th minute. Belack hit a shot low into the left corner of the net for her ninth goal of the season. She then assisted Oberlander for a one-touch shot and goal six minutes later for two-goal lead.

The Lions scattered six unanswered goals in the second half, starting with three quick ones over a seven-minute span. Belack, still hot from the first half, dribbled up the middle and into the box for another low shot for a 3-0 lead.

Leah Moora (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) sent a pass down the middle to Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) at 52:56, before Catherine Eichenlaub (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) scored with a one-touch shot off an endline pass from Schaeffer in the 57th minute.

Schaefer made it 6-0 in the 63rd minute with a header goal off a cross from defender Sami Lowry (Pittsburgh, PA/Pine-Richland) and Aleksivich tallied the last two goal for the final margin.

The Lions not only held Pitt-Greensburg scoreless, but they also didn't allow a shot in the 90 minutes. Behrend managed to score eight goals on its 38 shots taken.

The Lions return to action on Tuesday at D'Youville. Game time is 5 p.m.
