Bilka Helps Women's Soccer Defeat D'Youville

BUFFALO, NY – Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) scored a pair of goals to lift Penn State Behrend past D'Youville 3-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Tuesday night.

Bilka netted a goal in each half, including the game winner and her 50th career goal to help the Lions (6-4, 2-0 AMCC) pick up their second conference shutout this season. Catherine Eichenlaub (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) also tallied a goal in the win.

Bilka recorded an unassisted tally in the 35th minute for the only goal in a first half where Behrend outshot the Spartans (4-5-1, 0-2 AMCC) 11-1.

The Lions got two goals midway through the second stanza just six minutes apart for a 3-0 lead. Eichenlaub scored off a pass from defender Caitlin Caldwell (Belle Vernon, PA/Belle Vernon) at the 72:04 mark and Bilka followed with her second goal off a corner kick taken by Caldwell and eventually assisted by Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) in the 78th minute.

Mackenzie Troyan (Butler, PA/Butler) only needed to make one save on three shots in the 90 minutes for her second straight shutout in between the pipes.

Behrend returns to action on Sunday at Mt. Aloysius. Game time is 12 p.m.
