Women's Soccer Too Much For Mt. Aloysius

CRESSON, Pa. – Amber Nolf (Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic) scored her first collegiate goal, the eventual game winner, to lead Penn State Behrend women's soccer past Mt. Aloysius 3-1 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Sunday.

Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) and Megan Schwartz (Shaler, PA/Shaler) also tallied a goal while Mackenzie Troyan (Butler, PA/Butler) made two saves to help the Lions (7-4, 3-0 AMCC) remain undefeated in conference play.

Belack got the scoring started for Behrend with her 11th goal of the season with a deflected shot from the top of the 18 for a 1-0 lead. The Mounties (7-4, 1-1 AMCC) responded just one minute, 12 seconds later with their only goal by Jordan Gebhart. Sam Torrenti took a corner kick and Gebhart was on the receiving end of the kick with a header goal to make it 1-all.

Nolf got her first goal just before halftime with a header off a direct kick taken by Caitlin Caldwell (Belle Vernon, PA/Belle Vernon) in the 43rd minute.

Ten minutes into the second half, Schwartz got an insurance goal from a through ball by Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) for a 3-1 advantage.

Behrend returns to action on Tuesday against Houghton. Game time is 7 p.m.
