Women's Soccer Wins Fifth Straight; Lions Blank Altoona

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team defeated Penn State Altoona 4-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday afternoon.

Celebrating senior day, Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) netted a pair of goals to help the Lions (9-4, 4-0 AMCC) post their fifth straight and fourth conference win of the season. Bilka keeps adding to her career goals record and now sits at 52 all time.

Megan Schwartz (Shaler, PA/Shaler) and Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) each added a goal, while Sam Morlacci (Apollo, PA/Shady Side) made one save for her first shutout of her career.

After blasting nine shots in the first 14 minutes, Bilka got Behrend on the board at the 14:31 mark with a goal from a few yards out amongst a scramble in the box for her sixth goal of the season. She struck again for another goal in the second half, just one of three scored in the stanza.

In the 54th minute, Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) sent a cross in from the right side and Bilka was on the other end of it for her second goal of the game and a 2-0 lead.

Schwartz and Bilka scored 24 second apart late in the second half for the final 4-0 margin. Schwartz mishit the ball off a Rachel Weyand (Butler, PA/Butler) cross and it made its way across the goal line, before Belack came right back and netted her team-leading 12th goal of the year at the 75:58 mark.

The Lions outshot Altoona (3-9-1, 0-4-1 AMCC) 33-4, clamping down on defense and holding their leading scorer Shoshana Mahoney without a goal.

Behrend returns to action on Tuesday at Hilbert. Game time is 2 p.m.
