Lions Ranked Seventh in NCAA Great Lakes Regional Poll

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team is ranked seventh in the latest NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Poll. The Lions are also ninth in the current National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) Great Lakes Regional Poll.

The NCAA ranked 65 teams in eight different regions. Behrend is joined by three other Western Pennsylvania teams; No. 3 Carnegie Mellon, No. 6 Washington & Jefferson, and No. 8 Grove City. The Lions are the only Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) team regionally ranked.

Behrend is also nationally ranked in NCAA Division III statistics among 433 teams. The Lions are fourth in total goals (73), fifth in scoring offense (4.06), sixth in total points (187), 10th in points per game (10.39) and 23rd in total assists (41).

Individually, junior forward Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) is ninth in points (45), 14th in goals (18) and 17th in points per game (2.50). Senior forward Alex Bilka (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) is 18th in game-winning goals with six.

The Lions have outscored their opponents 73-20 on the season, including 51-5 during their recent 10-game winning streak. Behrend recently finished the regular season 9-0 in conference play and has secured the No. 1 seed for the AMCC playoffs with the semifinals slated for Wednesday.
