Women's Soccer Set to Host Mt. Aloysius in AMCC Semifinals

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team will host No. 4 Mt. Aloysius in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) semifinals on Wednesday afternoon.

The top-seeded Lions (14-4) received a first-round bye after going 9-0 in the conference and earning the regular-season championship. Behrend will battle the Mounties (12-6-1) at 2 p.m. on the turf field.  The winner will advance to the championship game to face the winner of No. 2 Pitt-Greensburg and No. 3 Pitt-Bradford in the second semifinal match up. The highest remaining seed will host the championship game on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The champion will earn the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Lions are looking to defend their title from last year in hopes for their conference-leading 12th championship in the 20-year history of the AMCC. Behrend could also become the first team in the conference history to win six straight championships.

During the regular season, the Lions defeated Mt. Aloysius 3-1 on October 2 in Cresson, Pa.  Amber Nolf (Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic) scored her first collegiate goal, the eventual game winner, while Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) and Megan Schwartz (Shaler, PA/Shaler) also tallied a goal to help Behrend defeat Mt. Aloysius.

Belack leads the team with 18 goals and nine assists for 45 points. The junior recently tied the single-season points record with two goals and three assists in a 9-0 win over Medaille. Belack needs four goals and three assists to break the single-season records in goals and assists.
