ERIE, Pa. – Senior defender Ava Michael (State College, PA/State College) has been named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches (USC) NCAA Division III Women's Scholar All-East Region Second Team.

Michael, a three-year starter, is earning this honor for the first time in her career. She boasts a 3.86 grade-point average and is majoring in psychology. Michael was named to the USC All-Region second team and garnered AMCC Defensive Player of the Year honors. She is a three-time All-AMCC selection, landing on the first team for a second time in three years.

This season, Michael helped Behrend surrender only six goals in 21 games and register 16 shutouts. She started in 19 contests and led the team with eight assists. Michael is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and has been named to the Academic All-AMCC team four years.
