Women's Soccer Travels to Connecticut in First Round of NCAA Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team will travel to Middletown, Connecticut and the campus of Wesleyan University to take on the Cardinals (14-1-2) in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Lions (19-1) are making their 11th appearance in the tournament, earning the automatic bid winning their 15th Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) with a 2-0 win over Pitt-Greenburg this past weekend.

Wesleyan was ranked as high as No. 13 in the national rankings this season and lost a heartbreaker in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship to Middlebury with the game being decided via penalty kicks.

The Cardinals will also host Ithaca (14-4) vs. Stevens (9-6-4) with the winners of each match facing off Sunday.

This will be the first time the Lions and Cardinals have squared off against each other.
