Lions Fall to Gannon

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team fell to Gannon 220-52 in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.

Meghan Wade (Berea, OH/Berea), the lone women's diver, shined on the diving board.  The sophomore had a national qualifying one meter score of 263.43.

In the 50 yard backstroke, MaryEllen Spooner (Lockhaven, PA/West Springfield) took third place at 30.10.  Meagan Daily (Pittsburgh, PA/Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) also had a third place finish for the Lions in the 50 yard butterfly.  Daily finished with a time of 30.94. 

Spooner and Daily teamed up with Lauren Rosato (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley) and Georgie Hatch (Middletown, MD/Middletown) in the 200 yard freestyle relay.  The squad finished at 1:55.42 for third place.

Behrend will be back in the water on November 30th at the Fredonia Blue Devil Invite.  Day one is set to begin at 4 p.m.
