Women's Swimming and Diving Takes Seventh at Fredonia Invite
The Penn State Behrend women’s swimming and diving team finished with 205 points to place seventh out of eight teams at the three-day Fredonia State Blue Devil Invitational.
FREDONIA, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team finished with 205 points to place seventh out of eight teams at the three-day Fredonia State Blue Devil Invitational.
MaryEllen Spooner (Lockhaven, PA/West Springfield) posted the first and only win on the women's side. She won the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:00.43 after finishing second in the preliminaries.
Spooner was also a member of the 200 medley relay along with Alex Isaacson (Williamsport, PA/Williamsport), Meagan Daily (Pittsburgh, PA/Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) and Lauren Rosato (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley) that placed 11th overall with a time of 2:05.47. Isaacson was the top finisher for the Lions in the 400 IM, touching in 5:24.55 for 15th place.
Diver Meghan Wade (Berea, OH/Berea) tallied a score of 366.95 on the three-meter board to place seventh.
Behrend returns to the pool on Saturday at Westminster. Meet begins at 1 p.m.
