Westminster Defeats Women's Swimming and Diving
Meghan Wade was first in the 1m and 3m diving events, but the Penn State Behrend women’s swimming and diving team lost to Westminster 139-112 in non-conference action on Saturday.
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Meghan Wade (Berea, OH/Berea) was first in the 1m and 3m diving events, but the Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team lost to Westminster 139-112 in non-conference action on Saturday.
Wade earned a score of 206.95 to win the one-meter board, beating three Titan divers, before placing first on the three-meter board with a 196.60 total.
Senior MaryEllen Spooner (Lockhaven, PA/West Springfield) recorded two individual wins and one relay, while placing second in the 100 backstroke. Her time of 2:25.63 won her the 200 backstroke and 2:33.06 in the 200 IM also scored her first place. She then joined Alex Isaacson (Williamsport, PA/Williamsport), Lauren Rosato (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley) and Georgie Hatch (Middletown, MD/Middletown) to win the 200 free relay (1:58.52).
Rosato, Isaacson and Hatch all individually won an event in addition to relay. Rosato touched first in the 100 butterfly (1:11.62), Isaacson posted a winning time of 2:55.48 in the 200 breaststroke and Hatch was the winner in the 500 freestyle (6:23.84).
Rosato was also second in the 100 freestyle (1:01.21).
The Lions return to action on Friday, January 18 against Allegheny. Meet time is 5 p.m.
