Allegheny Too Much For Lions

ERIE, Pa. – The women's swimming and diving team dropped a non-conference decision to Allegheny by a score of 184.5-49.5 in the Junker Center Pool on Friday night.

Meghan Wade (Berea, OH/Berea) and MaryEllen Spooner (Lockhaven, PA/West Springfield) were individual winners for the Lions.

After taking second in the one-meter, Wade won the three-meter competition and was a half a point away from a national qualifying score.

Spooner got her first-place finish in the 100 backstroke with a winning time of 1:04.80. She also took third in the 50 freestyle (27.44) and in the 200 yard medley relay along with Alex Isaacson (Williamsport, PA/Williamsport), Lauren Rosato (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley) and Meagan Daily (Pittsburgh, PA/Our Lady of the Sacred Heart). The group tallied a time of 2:05.15.

The Lions return to action tomorrow against Washington & Jefferson. Meet time is 1 p.m.
