Behrend Falls to Yellow Jackets in Home Opener

ERIE, Pa. - Baldwin Wallace proved too much for the Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team as the Lions fell 145-69 on Saturday afternoon at the Junker Center.

Freshman Mia Pietropola (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) won twice for the Lions, winning the 50 yard freestyle in 26.53 and the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:10.32.

Another freshman, Anna Rose Watterson (Baldwin, PA/Seton La-Salle), took first place in the grueling 500 yard freestyle. She posted a time of 5:42.49 to earn Behrend nine points.

The Lions posted a strong second place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay, with a team of Watterson, Lauren Rosato (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley),  Jesse Dunleavy (McMurray, PA/Peters Township), and Georgie Hatch (Middletown, MD/Middletown) finishing in 4:09.96.

Behrend was slightly behind the eight ball from the start, as the Yellow Jackets had two divers compared to none for the Lions.

Penn State Behrend will next host Chatham on November 22 at 5 p.m.
