FREDONIA, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team is eight out of nine teams after day one of the Fredonia State Blue Devil Invitational on Friday night.

The Lions earned 20 points for eighth place overall. Mia Pietropola (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) was the top point getter for Behrend. She finished seventh in the 200 IM with a time of 2:17.83.

Oberlin is currently in first place (142) and SUNY Brockport is second (105), while Allegheny and Wheeling Jesuit are tied for third with a score of 99.

The Lions return to action tomorrow for day two of the invitational. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. and finals are slated for 4 p.m.
