Lions Stay in Eighth at Fredonia Invitational
The Penn State Behrend women’s swimming and diving team remained in eighth place with a team score of 99 after day two of the Fredonia State Blue Devil Invitational on Saturday.
FREDONIA, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team remained in eighth place with a team score of 99 after day two of the Fredonia State Blue Devil Invitational on Saturday.
Competing in five events on the day, Mia Pietropola (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) led the Lions with a fifth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke. She touched in a time of 1:10.43.
Pietropola also swam the second leg of the 400 medley relay along with Alex Isaacson (Williamsport, PA/Williamsport), Meagan Daily (Pittsburgh, PA/Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) and Anna Rose Watterson (Baldwin, PA/Seton-La Salle). The foursome took eighth overall with a time of 4:30.92.
Daily was the top swimmer for Behrend in the 200 butterfly. She touched in a time of 2:40.40 for 14th place. In the 500 freestyle, Watterson tallied an 11th-place finish (5:32.98) to round out the points for the Lions.
Behrend returns to action tomorrow for the final day of the invitational. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. followed by finals at 4 p.m.
