Women's Swimming and Diving Falls to Chatham

ERIE, Pa. – The Chatham women's swimming and diving team defeated Penn State Behrend 154-85 in non-conference action in the Junker Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions won four events on the day, beginning with the 200 medley relay to start the meet. Allie Schneider (Erie, PA/McDowell), Maryn Horn (Houston, TX/Jersey Village), Gwendolyn Lowery (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) and Claire Mallick (Pittsburgh, PA/Woodland Hills) won the relay in a time of 2:02.35.

Schneider, Lowery and Anna Rose Watterson (Baldwin, PA/Seton-La Salle) were also individual winners for Behrend. Watterson won the 1000 freestyle (12:04.73), while placing second in the 500 free (5:55.88) and 400 IM (5:28.26).

Schneider had a first-place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:08.19) and was second in the 200 backstroke (2:24.47). In the 100 butterfly, Lowery was the first to touch in 1:02.97. She also was second in the 200 freestyle (2:04.60).

In addition to the relay, Horn had top finished for Behrend in the 50 and 100 freestyle. She was second in both events with times of 26.16 and 59.99, respectively.

Diver Jessica Rettger (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) competed on just the one-meter board and placed second with a score of 104.10.

The Lions return to action on Saturday against Baldwin Wallace. Meet time is 1 p.m.
