Behrend Finishes Day Two of Blue Devil Invitational

FREDONIA, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team competed for the second straight day at the Fredonia State Blue Devil Invitational held on Saturday.

John Carroll remains in first place 413 points, while Wheeling Jesuit moved into second with 373 points and Oberlin is now third (355). The Lions are in ninth place out of the same number of teams with 111 points.

Maryn Horn (Houston, TX/Jersey Village) led the swimmers in the "B" final of the 100 freestyle. She took ninth overall with a time of 56.12. Jessica Wyckoff (Elma, NY/Iroquois) was 11th in 56.58.

Allie Schneider (Erie, PA/McDowell) led the Lions in the 200 backstroke, placing 16th with a time of 2:24.38.

In the 400 medley relay that started the preliminaries, Schneider, Horn, Wyckoff and Gwen Lowery (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) were fifth overall in 4:18.63. The final relay of the day, consisting of the same four in the 200 free relay, the team posted a time of 1:45.01 for seventh place.

Behrend returns to action tomorrow for the final day of the invite. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. with finals at 5 p.m.
